Caitlin's still been refusing to eat the exotic proteins alone. This evening, when I went into the hall bathroom to retrieve her food dish, I found her panting, on the floor, seizing, with saliva dripping from her mouth.
The urgent care vets think it's diabetic ketoacidosis. They're keeping her overnight, then hubby's gonna pick her up and drop her off at our normal vet. We're also probably going to have to put her back on the ProPlan, at least temporarily. It's better to feed her that, so she'll actually eat *something*. We may end up going the "kitty Benadryl" route after all, to try to deal with her histamine sensitivity. Oh, and for bonus points, she had blood in her urine. She had UTI issues as a kitten, guess it's come back.
I'm at my wit's end. I love Caitlin dearly, but we literally cannot afford to keep making expensive trips to the vet. Tonight's emergency visit was over a thousand dollars.
Any good thoughts sent our way would be greatly appreciated!
