nightshade1972: (Default)
I've been in regular email contact with Susan, the chick who hired me to do volunteer work at the local hospital.  I think we've finally worked things out to where I can do craft projects at home (plastic canvas, crochet, counted cross stitch), I can drop the stuff off periodically so I don't actually have to go to the hospital every week, and she tells me they'll even reimburse me for the cost of supplies.  So I think it's gonna work out after all.  On the one hand, I wish I hadn't spent the $25 on a shirt I'm not gonna have to wear every week, on the other hand I suppose it's useful for the occasional "official volunteer functions".  But it's kinda neat that they'd be willing to pay me to make stuff at home.

I'm also gonna fill out an application for part time work at our local craft store.  Volunteerism is nice, but it doesn't pay the bills, and even reimbursing me for supplies just "makes me whole", it doesn't make me a profit.  And even with the money hubby's bringing in, it's just not enough to try to get out from under our credit card bills.
