Questionnaire from a friend's LJ
Oct. 26th, 2009 09:43 pm1. What is your first name?
Jennifer
2. Were you named after anyone?
My middle name, Rebecca, is also my maternal great grandmother's middle name
3. Do you wish on stars?
No
4. When did you last cry?
At the visit with Dr. Gaffney where he was insensitive enough to A, induce major physical pain in me to satisfy his own scientific curiosity, and B, suggest I need a shrink.
5. Do you like your handwriting?
My printing is much better than my cursive, but my handwriting's steadily worsened since my last two surgeries.
6. What is your favorite lunch meat?
Ham, turkey, or roast beef...depends what I'm in the mood for.
7. What is your most embarrassing CD?
I personally have no shame in admitting I have a Barry Manilow greatest hits CD, but I understand many other women my age might be embarrassed to admit that :-)
8. If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
I'd like to think so...
9. Do you have a journal?
Just this one.
10. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
No, never...
11. What are your nicknames?
The Familial Units insist on calling me "Jen". I preferred that when I was younger, but given my family history of dysfunction and emotional abuse, I really prefer my full first name. I feel like it helps me put some distance between my life as it is now, and as it was then. Hubby occasionally uses the shortened version, and the only reason he's allowed to get away with it is that I know he means me no harm.
12. Would you bungee jump?
No.
13. Do you untie your shoes before you take them off?
Yes.
14. Do you think that you are strong?
Emotionally strong, yes. Intellectually strong, yes. Physically strong, no.
15. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate mint chip.
16. Shoe size?
9AA
17. Red or pink?
Red.
18. What is your least favorite thing about yourself?
My fat thighs. But I can at least console myself with the knowledge that I can still fit into size 6 jeans.
19. What do you miss most?
My innocence. It's not a whole lot of fun being a cynic, but that's what happens when you grow up, I guess :-)
20. Do you want everyone you send this to, to send it back?
I'm posting it to my LJ, whomever wants to respond in kind is welcome to do so.
21. What color pants/shoes are you wearing?
Blue jeans, red sandals.
22. What are you listening to right now?

Hands and eyes.
28. Do you like the person who sent this to you?
I swiped this from a friend's LJ, so I must like her, right?
29. Favorite drink?
Chocolate milk.
30. Favorite sport?
If I had to pick one, probably basketball, since it has (to me) the easiest rules to follow.
31. Hair color?
Red.
32. Eye color?
Indeterminate, depends what I'm wearing.
33. Do you wear contacts?
Not anymore.
34. Favorite food?
Depends on what I'm in the mood for.
35. Last movie you watched?
If "movie" is defined as "programming uninterrupted by commercials", probably "Inspector Morse: Service of All the Dead". I finally got Season One on DVD a few weeks back.
36. Favorite day of the year?
March 12 :-)
37. Scary movies or happy endings?
Not a big scary movie fan. And I dunno about "happy" endings, either. I'm a mystery/forensics buff, so a good ending for me is one in which all the plot threads have been satisfactorily resolved, and the author hasn't bitten off more than they can chew, forensically speaking. I still recall how disappointed I was in Robert K. Tanenbaum's novel, "Counterplay", because he'd screwed up the forensics so badly. Guy's a former prosecutor, for chrissake.
38. Winter or summer?
I grew up in Chicago, so I miss winter. On the other hand, cold weather doesn't play nice with my joints. And I'd like summer a whole lot better if it didn't get so damned humid here in Houston.
39. Hugs or kisses?
Both, although I'd like kisses a whole lot more if hubby actually knew how to kiss like a grownup :-)
40. What is your favorite dessert?
Lemon cream cake from The Olive Garden

No idea.
42. Who is the least likely to do this meme and comment?
Ditto.
43. What books are you reading?
Future Cops, an anthology of science fiction with a SF bent...a la Blade Runner, Minority Report, etc.
44. What's on your mouse pad?
The Tasmanian Devil :-)
45. What did you watch on TV last night?
Not a whole lot, Sundays generally suck for anything worth watching on TV. Mainly Mystery Diagnosis reruns.
46. Favorite smells?
Cinnamon, citrus, herbal scents
47. Favorite sound?
The Maternal Unit hanging up on me when she thinks I've done something wrong.
48. What's the furthest you've been from your home?
